Aetara develops adaptive thermal-control materials and radiator systems for satellites and emerging space infrastructure. Built on research at UC Berkeley, our STARC thermal surfaces passively adjust infrared emissivity with temperature, helping spacecraft retain heat when cold and release it when hot without powered actuation.
Starting with thermal-control films, we are developing lightweight, 3D-printable radiator systems that integrate heat extraction, transport, and radiative rejection. Our approach aims to reduce heater power, thermal-control mass, and system complexity while supporting more stable payload temperatures.
We welcome collaboration with spacecraft manufacturers, satellite operators, thermal-system integrators, and orbital computing companies on sample evaluation, system integration, and flight demonstrations.
