Dr. Lucy Hoag

Dr. Lucy Hoag is Founder and CEO of Violet Labs, where she is building the data infrastructure behind how complex hardware gets designed, built, and certified. Violet connects the tools, requirements, and data that govern aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing programs, so engineering teams can move at mission speed. Lucy has spent her career on hardware programs where integration failures decide outcomes: leading Amazon Project Kuiper’s first prototype satellite through functional, environmental, and performance test as Senior Technical Program Manager; running systems integration and software TPM for Lyft Level 5’s autonomous vehicle program; performing verification and validation systems engineering at Waymo; and leading Google’s Skybender, which demonstrated an end-to-end communication link via autonomous drone. She founded Violet Labs to eliminate the disconnected toolchains and manual handoffs that slow every hardware program. Earlier, Lucy advised DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office as a SETA on space programs including SeeMe and Phoenix. She holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Astronautical Engineering from USC.
