Col Timothy Trimailo

Colonel Tim Trimailo is the Director of the Commercial Space Office (COMSO), Space Systems Command (SSC), Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. Col. Trimailo oversees SSC’s integration of commercial capabilities across all United States Space Force (USSF) mission areas. Charged with enacting a “Buy Before Build” paradigm shift, he executes over $1 Billion in investments mitigating critical capability gaps for the warfighter while interacting with senior Department of the Air Force members, Congressional staff, and leaders of industry. Prior to this role, Col. Trimailo was the Program Manager for Space Development Agency’s Missile Tracking Layer programs and Materiel Leader for SSC’s investments in proliferated-low Earth orbit (pLEO) prototyping efforts, to include managing the joint Blackjack pLEO technology demo program with DARPA.
