Radiation Testing for the New Space Era

Tue, Oct 27 · 12:00 – 13:00

Lovelace Room

Radiation in the space environment induces errors in electronic devices and systems from single event effects (SEE), which must be carefully accounted for during mission planning. The scarcity of testing facilities makes it difficult to evaluate electronic devices on demand, as is often required to accommodate flight schedules. TAU Systems has developed a revolutionary method of radiation testing of electronics based on a compact accelerator platform. The platform reduces the size and cost of new testing facilities by 10x, enabling new facilities to be built to meet the growing demand of the New Space industry. Engineers can now access the test method at the TAU Labs Radiation Testing Facility near San Diego, CA.
